How Does the Trick “Really Work”?
Golf tricks are a dime a dozen, so how can we promise this trick will work? Because it’s a mental trick.

A Mental Trick?
That’s right, a mental trick! Golf, as you know, is very much a mental game. And the mind is subject to control, to a point. Speaking of points, here’s the trick: » Read more..

Tiger Woods; Give This Amateur 5 Minutes & Fix Your Swing

Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods

He is not in the Fed Ex Cup race. He is not in the Rider Cup. His back is still injured. He rarely makes the cut in tournaments he does play (not to mention the withdraws). Speculation abounds about Tiger Woods and what he needs to do to get back to domination on the PGA Tour. He has been getting advice from professional players, analysts and coaches and they have been all over the map. Maybe what he needs is some advice from an amateur; that would be me. » Read more..

Greatness: Goodbye To Tiger or Hello to Rory?

In 1996, as a lifetime golf fan, I was thrilled to attend to The Las Vegas Invitational held at TPC Summerlin. I was standing alongside a fairway when an errant golf ball landed just a few feet away. The Las Vegas Invitational is a PGA Fall event of which most of the big names on the PGA Tour do not attend. To my surprise, a large crowd quickly assembled around the ball as if it belonged to a very popular golfer.

It turned out the ball belonged to a young Tiger Woods. I knew of him as a US Armature winner, but didn’t really pay much attention to him. That weekend I got to know more about him as he went on to win the tournament -the first win of his carrier. From that point on I was a huge fan. » Read more..

Four Fun Las Vegas Golf History Facts

Lake Las Vegas Resort

Lake Las Vegas Resort

1: The first golf courses built on the Las Vegas Strip

The earliest history of golf in Las Vegas started 87 years ago and the first golf course that was built on the Las Vegas Strip opened in 1927, it was located near the Las Vegas Hilton area but it doesn’t exist anymore. In April 24, 1950, the Desert Inn Hotel and Casino or sometimes called D.I was the second establishment to offer golf on the Las Vegas Strip. It was designed by Jac Lessman who was an Architect from New York. In 1966, famous businessman named Howard Hughes rented many of the hotel’s top floors for a 10 day reservation but on the day that he was supposed to leave, he negotiated to buy the hotel and he purchased it on March 1, 1967.

In April 27, 2000, the Dessert Inn Hotel was later purchased by Steve Wynn, for $270 million. Today, it’s now called Wynn Las Vegas and it is a living relic of the early history of golf in Las Vegas. » Read more..

You Want a Great Golf Experience… Think Cascata!

Cascata

I have been living and golfing here in Southern Nevada for over 20 years. In that time I played almost every golf course in the Las Vegas Valley including every country club. Just when I thought there weren’t any more great golf experiences….I got to play Cascata Golf Course with friends.

Cascata (Italian for waterfall) is located in Boulder City, Nevada. If you are not familiar with the area it is an easy 30 minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip. As you near the course it can’t be seen from the highway. This is by design so players will not be bothered by traffic noise.
